Debt-Free Date
Debt-Free Date Calculator
The Debt-Free Date calculator turns an abstract balance into a real calendar moment. Instead of a vague sense that you are paying things down, it simulates your payoff month by month and tells you the exact month and year your last payment clears the balance. It starts counting from today, so the date you see is the one that matters. Adding an optional extra payment lets you watch that date jump closer and your total interest shrink in real time.
To use it, enter your total balance, your annual percentage rate, and the monthly payment you make. Then drag the extra payment slider to test sending more each month. The hero shows your debt-free date, the first stat shows how many months that takes, and the second shows total interest paid. The line chart traces your balance falling to zero so you can see the shape of the payoff.
A concrete date does something a balance never can: it makes the finish line visible. When you can see that an extra fifty or one hundred dollars a month moves your freedom date up by months and saves real interest, the trade-off becomes obvious. Knowing the date helps you plan around it and keep more of your future income for yourself.
